The sunflower girl is inspired by a wonderful woman i met recently who adores sunflowers....
Also, sunflowers have always been my optimism symbol.....

in progress...how to...the birth of a mixed media art painting & collage (a tutorial)

Using my sketch markers and a flesh tone copic marker on a piece of blank paper, i sketched my girl sitting on the stairs of her life....Then i painted her face....

Using a piece of an old encyclopedia paper, i sketched the stairs and i cut them off...

Then i started thinking about the color of my backround..I didn't want something usual as light blue...
So,i chose the light green/blue teal,the color of an exotic sky,the color of the deep sea...
In the meantime,i started painting her....
Her hair,
Her dress...
The stairs....

As soon as the backround was dry i stamped it and i started gluing my collage pieces...

Something was missing...
Something about Hope....
A swallow... It always brings Spring...it always brings hope....
Then some rub ons!!!!

Some lace on the top....

And finally the words...

Hope changes everything!

Be sure you always remember that!!!

Art Journaling Love & New art journals!

  An art journal is a journal or diary that has a strong visual element to it, an expression of your artistic creativity and imagination, not filled only with words like a traditional journal. It's a journal for using your art to express your memories, dreams, and thoughts. How you create the images, and what type of imagery you make, is entirely a matter of personal choice. There are no rules. You can paint or draw, use pen and ink, photos, collage, doodle, stickers... anything and everything.

  An Art Journal is just a journal in which you record anything you like in a creative way. Art Journaling is all about the process. In an Art Journal you can express a lot of experiences and emotions. You can use paint, colors, images, words, pictures, leaves, papers, etc. Anything goes in an art Journal. You can use it as an outlet to express your emotions and then cover them with paint or paper.  

You can use it to record events, to gather stuff you like, you can even use it to express how empty of ideas you are at the moment. You don't have to keep an art journal to be an artist, but artists all over the world have use art journals as a tool to express and record their artistic minds.
